Arctic Voice Project
Go to Arctic Voice Blog for updates and photos.
Our
school is involved in the Arctic Voice Project which aims to link
schools in the UK with schools in the Arctic. Glenn Morris is leading
an expedition on a 3,000 mile voyage through the North West Passage by
kayak and dog sled. The journey will take three years to complete, and,
as they travel, the team are finding out about how global warming is
affecting the lives of the Inuit people who live there.
Click the following link to listen to the BBC
radio broadcast that Primary 7 pupils recorded about their interest and
involvement in the project - Arctic Voice Radio Broadcast Primary 7 also produced a video for BBC School Report that featured news about the project. Go to the TV Glaitness page to watch the video and see photos of the pupils in action.

Glenn
Morris and Julie Urquhart visited our school and talked to us about
what they had seen and experienced on their journey.
We held a press
conference and recorded an interview with Glenn for TV Glaitness. Click on the link to view the Press Conference.
Julie
did some filming of us for a TV programme they are making about the
Arctic Voice project and recorded us kayaking and canoeing at
Walliwall, as well as playing some 'Arctic' games we had invented.
While they were here they helped us to create resources to send to our
link school in Igloolik. | |
